• Account Data: email address (if you create an account) and hashed identifiers.
• App Content: lesson progress, quest completions, preferences (e.g., reminders).
• Conversation Data: messages you exchange with the AI during practice, necessary to generate responses and provide feedback.
• Device & Usage: app version, iOS version, device model, crash logs, and basic analytics (screens viewed, feature usage).
• Payments: handled by Apple. We receive purchase status (e.g., active subscription) but not full card details.
• Cookies/Local Storage: used to remember preferences on the website; minimal and not for advertising.

3. How we use data

• Provide and improve app features (lessons, quests, AI feedback).
• Operate, troubleshoot, and secure our services.
• Personalize recommendations and track learning progress.
• Communicate about updates, tips, and support (you can opt out of non‑essential emails).
• Comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse.

4. AI processing & retention

Conversation Data may be processed by our AI providers to generate replies and quality feedback. We retain practice transcripts for a limited period to provide features like review history and recommendations, then either delete or de‑identify them. You can request deletion sooner (see Your Choices).

5. Legal bases (EEA/UK)

We process data on the basis of: (a) contract (to provide the app), (b) legitimate interests (to improve and secure services), and (c) consent where required (e.g., optional communications).

6. Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share only with service providers who help us run the app (e.g., analytics, crash reporting, cloud hosting, AI processing) under strict confidentiality and security commitments. Purchases are processed by Apple.

7. Data retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above, after which we delete or de‑identify it. Retention periods vary by data type and legal requirements.

8. Your choices & rights

• Access, correct, or delete your data.

• Opt out of non‑essential emails.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

11. Children

icando is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.
